Du Ferí da Belte
The Outer Planets Alliance is a loosely organized group of factions that come from all across the Asteroid Belt and the gas giants’ satellites. Its members range from peaceful progressives to nihilist anarchists, but all agree that the Belt must have freedom from the Inner Planets.
This drink, with its combination of sweetness and fiery kick, has become a favorite at parties and the Belter Bar.
It’s easy to modulate the level of heat in each individual drink by using a combination of plain black rum and infused black rum.
“Du ferí da Belte!” means “Free the Belt!” Feel free to shout that as you drink.
Ingredients:
- 1 part chipotle-infused black rum
- 1 part bourbon
- ½ part bourbon
- 1-2 dashes Xocolatl Mole Bitters
Instructions:
Chipotle-Infused Rum: Cut 3 dried chipotle peppers into quarters and soak in 1 cup black rum for 10 minutes, then strain through a fine strainer.
Recipe: Stir all ingredients with ice, then strain into an ice-filled rocks glass. Garnish with a cinnamon stick.
